What are you wearing for New Years? I am not sure if I am going out, or staying in. Either way, I will be wearing this great top I got from the Chico's Outlet. Under $10. It is a white and gold fabric, I can wear either tied-up, loose, or with a belt. So many options.

Tutu Art -- Clothing Art

Can you tell I love art? I have now posted about it 2 days in a row. Anyway, ran across this amazing tutu art, (can't remember where the pic is from), and it got me thinking. Fashionista thinking. You know how when you were young your parents framed your clothing? Ok, I didn't but lots did. Back to art, what about a large black canvas, buy and paint yourself, you can do it, and an ever changing display of great clothing? Something to think about.

Unique Art - Hanging Pictures

These vintage Jean Jansen Lithographs, were my husbands. They were done in 1968, and framed in the 1970's. I love them, and love the worn out vintage frames. Instead of hanging them across a wall, I decided to hang them vertically in my office/work-out room. I love them. I periodically rotate them, so the one on the bottom becomes the top.

Wine Cork Wreath

Loving this cork wreath. We are doing a wine room, and this would be soooo cute. It looks like they just used standard corks, which you can buy at any wine supply shop. I may have to make one.

Department 56 Christmas Houses

I have tons of Department 56 Christmas Houses. Tons. So, this year, instead of putting them inone large display, I chose my all time favorites and am putting them in small vignettes around the house. This did leave about 20 in boxes in the garage. But, it is a little out of control.

These are on my main desk in my family room. All personal favorites with a story. The tall green row house I hauled all over San Francisco, pregnant. Love it.

One of my first ones given to me by my stepmother when I was in college. I put colored lights in them, love the glow.

A vignette on the wine/liquor bar. No coincidence it is a brew house and a wine cellar.

My alternate desk in the front room.

The guest room.

Jennifer Aniston Personal Style

Wow, love her great personal style. What can I say? Just love it.

Happy Thanksgiving. Candle in wine bottle.

Happy Thanksgiving. My turkey in a bag in the oven. Yay. Yum.

My left over wine bottle from my anniversary. I am doing a drippy candle bottle. Do you remember them from the italian restaurants years ago? Do they still do them? I am sure they don't. But I love mine. Although, it is harder than I will admit to find drip candles. Most are drip less. Next color, red, gold, and silver. Yay.

Cakebread Cellars Wine. Yum.

Jennifer Aniston's New Movie

Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd are filming a new movie "Wanderlust", where they ditch the world and go to live on a commune. Well I for one, wouldn't ditch anything if I had this amazing, asymetrical jacket. It is a "Wayne" jacket and I just love it. Now, to find one in my price tag.

Love her, love her style, both in movies and personal.

Jeggings - Jean Leggings

Jeggings, there I've said it. Not one to be much of a fan of leggings I wasn't sure about the whole jegging thing. Plus, the name, really? Most of the ones I saw looked kind of hokey. But, the other day when I was browsing Forever 21, I happend on a pair that were wonderful. Not only do they look and feel like jeans, but they stretch like a dream, and I love a straight leg jean, oh and they aren't too tight. Not like skin tight. Just tight enough. So, if you are on the fence, try a Forever 21, and see if they have some you might like, and the price, great, under $20.

I think I might have to get a Pea Coat this year. Truly fun and I like the versatility of them. When I was at Costco, yes, Costco the other day they had both Men and Women's for under $100. The coat below is from Chadwicks online and is $79.99 and comes in tons of colors. I noticed Victoria's Secret online also had them. So, Navy, Black, Gray, Brown, Red, which one to choose?

Nachos and Wine

Ok, so I love Mad Men on Sunday Nights. We decided to have our dinner before Mad Men, and we went with Nachos and Wine. How fun is what we call "Garbage Can Nachos". We grilled a steak, one side is rare, one well done,... to each their own. Cheese, beans, guacamole (homemade), cilantro, and green chili. Yum.

How do you make your Nachos?

Rachel Zoe's Nail Polish Pic Les Khakis De Chanel

It's no secret I am a Rachel Zoe fan!! Love her!! I love her pic of the Les Khakis De Chanel Nail Polish. Just not crazy about the price. I was thrilled when I went to my neighborhood Walgreens yesterday and they had this great Revlon Creme Brulee nail polish on sale for $2.99. What a find, what a bargain. This has a little bit of sparkle in it. The Chanel does not appear to. Opi also make Over the Taupe, which I was going to search for, had I not run across this great Revlon color.

Now, about the length of nails. I have to admit, I am a short is best girl. Really short. You?

What are you saving money on? I am saving money on dry cleaning. Those clothes that can be delicate hand washed and air dryed, are skipping the dry cleaner. I bought a Conair Steamer, and Love It!! Love It!! What a great way to refresh your dry cleaning, and get another wear or 2, as well as those clothes that you delicate wash and air dry. Then just steam. So much easier than ironing. I still put them on the ironing board to crease the sleeves, or crease pants.

So, as I asked earlier. What are you saving money on? The cost of the steamer on sale was worth it. Plus as an added bonus, I watch my DVR'd trashy TV while I steam.

Conair steamer. Great gadget.

Boyfriend Jeans - Fold your jeans 1950's Style

Everyone wears them. You know you love them. The Boyfriend Jean. Make your own!! The jeans below are a bootcut that I wear with heels. You can fold and make your own Boyfriend Jean. Or as I like the say, the 1950's jean. Remember Happy Days? Everyone had rolled jeans. Well here is the 1950's roll. Super easy.

Take jeans and lay them flat.

Next, pinch in the middle.

Make one roll.

Make 2 or 3 rolls. You can fan yours a bit like this one is done, or leave it with the fold pinch and it looks great too. I normally roll mine 3 times, but up to you. The more the pinch the tighter the bottom. And, yes, they stay rolled all day long. I use a loose pair of jeans, so I get the slouchy boyfriend look.
Now, put on your heels and go!! You are ready. Or, how about some Oxfords, or Booties, or, you name it.

This is the back of the folded leg.

White Shirt after Labor Day

Can you rock a white shirt after Labor Day? The answer is Yes!! A classic white shirt is classic all year long. Under a cardigan, under a blazer, or standing on it's own.

The photo below is from a Got Milk ad featuring Carolina Herrera and her daughter. Herrera always rocks a white shirt, it has become her signature style.

Rachel Zoe rocking a white shirt under a sparkly cardigan/jacket.

Do not know where the Zoe pic is from, sorry.

Turquoise Bead Necklace -- Bethenny Frankel

I have been loving Bethenny Frankel's turquoise bead necklace since I saw her wear it on Bethenny Getting Married? However, I just can find one that my budget loves. So today, I went buy a bead store in town, and saw several strands of turquoise beads that are in my budget. Now, for the stringing, I am not going to go with the traditional knot, I am going to string on a silver non-break chain with some smaller silver beads like 3 at each end to tie it all together. Yay, my own version of what I am sure is a much more expensive piece.

Are you interpreting anything for yourself?

Best Emmy Dress -- Navy

I loved this dress from the Red Carpet at last night's Emmy Awards. I even enjoyed the show. Jimmy Fallon was funny, and they didn't get too political. Lea Michele from Glee is in the photo below.

The dress is Oscar de la Renta, (or should I say gown). The Jewelry by Loraine Schwartz. I love the choker, collar design of the necklace. It was all just perfect.

Silver Turquoise Concho Belt Fall Transition Piece

Fall is coming. The air is getting crip. School has started. Here in New Mexico, they are roasting green chilie. Yum. Yum. Yum.

So, how can you update your wardrobe? With great transition trends under $50.00. This great concho belt is available in my Etsy store, just click on the logo on the right hand side of the page.

Any great belt can dress up an outfit or dress. Leave a longer shirt out and put a belt around it. Belt a shirtdress. How about skinny pants with a shirt tucked in and a low slung belt? You name it you can do it. Enjoy.

Don't know why the close-ups are a bit blurry. Trouble with the camera.

Meet the Hilfigers

Feeling Preppy? Then, Meet the Hilfigers. What a cute campaign. Although, I would have had his daughter hidden in there somewhere. No, these are not the real Hilfigers, just their models. I love the oversize sunglasses, scarves, oh, I love it all. Styling is great. Now, I better dig thru my closet and se what I can reuse. A girl has to have a budget and all. You?

BCBG Arabesque Double Wrap Watch

I love the look of the double wrap watch. BCBG has come up with one that has a leather strap and in an amazing price range. Yep, $115. That is amazing. So your choices are a BCBG store, or: up to you. Great watch. Watches are the new in accessory. Hey, since cell phones, watches have had to become an accessory, not an every day item.

Double Wrap Watch

So while flipping thru the re-runs the other day I ran across Martha Stewart, and she was wearing my favorite watch. The Hermes Cape Cod Double Tour. I love that watch. I have seen her wear it many times. However, it is soooo out of my budget. Everytime I see it I Google Double Wrap Watches. I was totally thrilled when this watch from New York and Company came up. It is not only $22.95, but it is buy a piece of jewelry and get a second 1/2 off. I can have one in each color. Black band and brown band. I am so there.

If you don't have a NY & Co. in your town, the link is below.

What a great Friday.
