Vintage Model Photos - Very America's Next Top Model

You know how on America's Next Top Model, they have the models do these weird and unusual photo shoots. Well it seems in the 1960's the unusual photo shoot was very popular. Just take a look at the two below.

Both pictures are from Norman Parkinson A Very British Glamour Hardcover Book.

Halloween Fun Fashionable Meal - Fondue

Getting together with friends for Halloween? Don't want to or like to cook? Here are some great ideas. Get a fondue pot or a small crock pot, and fill with your favorite pasta sauce. Then, cook some tortellini (Al Dente - not too squishy) and set aside, good cold or hot (once cooked). Swing through Whole Foods or Trader Joe's and get some little meatballs, all you do is heat on a cookie sheet. Some great bread to cut into cubes. Arrange all around your fondue or crock pot and you have a filling Italian Fondue. You can ad more goodies to dip if you would like.

For desert - Cost Plus Warehouse has a Carmel Apple Dipping Kit for $9.99. So fun.

Don't forget the extra munchies while watching a scary movie. Cost Plus has these cute Ghost Dipping Chips for $2.49.
Have some fun this Halloween. Enjoy. It is just a few days away.
A Fashionista can still be a Foodinista too!

Turquoise Necklaces -- Rachel Zoe

I love vintage jewelry. Oh, and it's no secret that I love Rachel Zoe. So hoping that they do a 3rd season. As all us Zoe fans know, she put a turquoise necklace on Eva Mendes and it was "Bananas"!. It has also been said that a turquoise necklace is great if you feel tired, it brightens up the face. So in the spirit of brightening up everyone, here are some great looking turquoise necklaces to inspire you.

Vintage Turquoise Necklace. Don't know where photo is from.

Vintage Sewing Patterns - Cocktail Dresses

As an avid watcher of Project Runway, I really wish I could sew. I can't. Really, not a stitch, and I have tried. But I love looking at old patterns. The style of the dress, what we are still wearing today, everything about them. I just listed some new ones in my Etsy store, click on the link at the right to get there.

Wrap Dress Pattern. Make as a Maxi or as a Street Length Dress.

I would so make this Vintage Pattern if I could. I love cocktail dresses. This is the perfect black dress.

Covet -- Herme's Cape Cod Double Wrap Watch -- On a Budget?

I totally covet the Herme's Cape Cod Double Wrap Watch!! However, with an over the top price tag of $18.50 plus --(depends on exact watch, gold, silver, band etc.). I am afraid it is so over my budget. Alas, there are some inspired type pieces that are nice looking. I may have to get one fore myself.

Over at Shopbop.com the La Mer double wrap watch is pretty good looking. At a $90.00 price tag it is doeable. Hmmmm. Exact web site here: http://www.shopbop.com/square-wrap-watch-mer-collections/vp/v=1/845524441851366.htm?folderID=2534374302029428&extid=NexTag-LAMER20008

Picture Photo Wall for Your Fashion Closet

I'm all about great outfits. However, I get dressed and never can remember what I like to mix and match. So it dawned on me when I saw this photo wall, what I need to do. Every time I make and match a killer great outfit, I will take a picture and print it out on the Post-It Picture Paper-- (like post-it notes, stick and then remove when you don't want) anyway, print and attach to my closet (works best on smooth surface). Now I will have a record of great outfits at my fingertips. Ok, so maybe I have too many clothes, but can you ever have too many?

Vanities -- Who Doesn't Love A Vanity? - Mirrored Vanities

I know I have always wanted a vanity. I don't have the room for one. However, it seems like it would be so relaxing to sit at a vanity and put on my makeup. The one below is wonderful as you could get natural light while applying your makeup. Love the round mirror, oh just love it all. Every fashion lover needs a great place to put on her makeup, or paint her nails. Enjoy these great rooms with vanities.

Picture below from Country Living.

Simple kidney shaped vanity with skirt and wonderful mirror.
Sorry, don't know where image is from.
I love this vanity. It uses an old table, and again, I love the use of natural light to put makeup on.

Mirrored vanity. I have been seeing tons of mirrored furniture lately and just love it. It is truly fashion for the room. Again, natural light.
Sorry, don't know where image is from.

I love the mirrored vanity, and old mirror. Take a peek at the wall to the right it is padded. How elegant, and... a window to the left, again, natural light.
Sorry, don't know where this picture is from.

Now, if you are limited on space, this vanity could be for you. Vanity is in the middle with two lockers on each side for storage. Again, looks like a window to the right. Great space.

Serena's Bedroom - Gossip Girl

I am a Gossip Girl fan!!! I need a headboard for my bed so I was enjoying the headboard behind Serena's bed. I think this could be done with artists canvas attached to the wall and painted.

Elegant, fun and functional. I love the eye picture. That would be so easy to do. Just get an eye pic, enlarge, attache to canvas, and paint on the makeup and glitter. Easy weekend project.
