Frozen Swirl Margaritas

Here is a fashionable drink for your weekend. Great with or without alcohol. Reminiscent of the great ones Chuy's Restaurant makes in the Southwest.

Frozen swirl margaritas.

Two ways to make them.

Make a batch each of traditional and strawberry frozen in a blender. Then gently pour some of each in a glass and enjoy. This takes a bit of practice so they don't mix.

Or--

Make a non frozen batch of each and place in a shallow plastic container about 3" deep in freezer, alcohol will keep it from completely freezing. When ready, scoop out with an ice cream scoop and place in glass. Enjoy.

1960's - 1970's Fashion and Cocktails -- The Gimlet

Let's face it what goes around comes around again. So it is with fashion. So it is with cocktails. While checking out the 1960's fashion of Mad Men the women were ordering Gimlets. When checking out the 1970's fashion of the now cancelled Swingtown, they were drinking Gimlets. Then when reading Julie & Julia, Julie was drinking a Gimlet. So here is the recipe for a fashionable cocktail, The Gimlet.

Gimlet

1 1/2 oz Gin or Vodka

1/2 oz Rose's Lime Juice

Garnish With Lime

Put into shaker half filled with ice, and shake well, pour into a Martini Glass, or shake and pour over ice into a Highball Glass. For a Fizzy Gimlet add a splash of Sprite or Soda.
